Cyber cropping

Hi all,
Welcome to a new week...I hope it's a good one for you.
Did you have a good weekend? I certainly did.
For the first time in as long as I can remember I played along in not 1, but 2 cyber crops!
I managed to get ALL challenges done for one of them but still need to catch up on the other. I'm just not that fast a scrapper!
The first crop was over at Scrapbook Savvy but so far I've only met one challenge and working on the second as we speak.
This was a sketch challenge but the page still had to be scrapped about love.
Here's mine:

Photo of Jayden and Renee when they first started going out together.

The other cyber crop was over at Scrap Sanity.
Seeing as all challenges were sketches I got these all done. Have I mentioned I'm loving sketches at the moment? LOL
This is my entry for the first challenge:

Photos of Rhiannon the day I had a Pin-Up girl photo shoot in my studio. I just love these photos.

The second sketch had a twist...to include coffee spills/splatters on the page. I had a stamp that was just perfect for this that I hadn't used and I must say, I love how this layout turned out. Lots of distressing, inking and embossing on this one not to mention my new Tim Holtz stamps :)

The third sketch was awesome but the photos I printed out just wouldn't work in the beginning! Grrr...but I persevered and am quite happy with the way it turned out. I used a hand dyed piece of crochet doily for the backing to emulate the spiders webs and rather than throw away the photo bits I didn't need after punching them out I used my Martha Stewart butterfly punch and made butterflies out of scrap photo.

The fourth sketch was also a colour challenge. The sketch called for 2 x 4" x 6" photos and 3 smaller photos. I thought about resizing the photos smaller but seeing as I never scrap 5 photos on a page I challenged myself to do so.
Quite like this one...not too busy and still has the 5 photos.

The 5th challenge was to make a piece of jewellery out of scrapping suplies but mines still drying so I'll have to share that later.

So if you haven't participated in a cyber crop for a while girls do yourself a favour and find one to play along in. You won't be sorry!

PMS!

Don't you just hate PMS!!
Well guess what?
We've found a way for you to LOVE IT!!

That's right...PMS!
A new challenge blog for you to embrace PMS!

Don't you think it's about time you started scrapping some layouts all about you?
Let's face it, we're always the ones behind the camera, we do the scrapping but we never have photos of ourselves.
Well all this is about to change!

Over at PMS! the fabulously talented creative team will choose a theme each month for you, provide some awesome inspiration so all that's left for you to do is get IN FRONT of the camera, get someone to take YOUR photo, scrap it then share with us. Easy peasy!!

BUT WAIT...there's more! This isn't like your normal, average Book of Me. We aim to to shock, shock, delight, anger, humble you and all those wonderful feelings you keep locked inside. We want you to let it all out for the world to see!!
We really want this to be something different, just for you...because YOU deserve it!

So head on over to PMS! for a sneaky peek of what's to come, become a follower, leave a comment if you like and let us know what you think but most importantly check back on the 1st of March to see what our very first theme will be.
I guarantee you'll be in for a fun ride.

Some exciting news and a few more shares...

Hi everyone!
Hope you're all well and staying dry. OMG this rain!! I'm so over it!
I know some people really need it but seriously, I feel like I should be building an ark!

At least the rain has kept me indoors and of course that only means one thing...playing in my studio. Now I have it set up full time with all my lovely goodies right by my side I'm finding it so much easier to get things done. So while everyone is inside watching TV or playing game consoles I'm happily sitting down the back with the radio on creating. Bliss!!

Today I have a couple of shares and a little bit of exciting news.
First of all, I've decided to jump on the 52 Week band wagon and scrap a page a week of our lives. (Hoping it's something I can stick to and keep up with)
I think it's an awesome way to put together a year in review album. I've also decided to scrap these pages in a different size for ease and want to try and keep them plain and simple.
So here's Week 1:

Week 1 we were on holidays in Tottenham, which is in Central NSW. Absolutely gorgeous place and I could easily see myself living there. Amazing sunsets, sunrises and scenery 24/7...just perfect.

Secondly, I've done the February Scrap the Boys challenge which was a sketch this month.
I scrapped these photos of my son meeting one of his idols, Greg Bloom. Greg is one of the Bloom brothers known for pig hunting which Jye just loves. They produce DVD's and Xmas 2010 I ordered one for him. The guys don't live far from us so I secretly organised for Greg to meet us and deliver it personally. The hardest part was getting Jye to come for the drive as he had no idea what was going on. It all went to plan though and the look on his face when Greg walked over was priceless! Bit of trivia here: we lived next door to the boys father for years in our last house but my boys were only young then and weren't into hunting or anything then. Small world huh?

Last but not least, after much deliberation, sleepless nights and daydreaming, I've decided to open my own little Facebook shop.
I've closed my studio to photography at this stage and I'm only doing location shoots for now. I just found that with the constant pain I'm in and the small studio space I have I just couldn't get around in there freely to photograph. It was a big decision to make as I really love my little studio but until I get better I'll just stick to location shoots.
So...what to do with the studio? Well over the past few months I've been scrapping like mad and making a general mess and bit by bit my stash has made it's way into the studio. As I said before, having everything right at my finger tips again has made it so much easier to get things completed so of course I decided to use this to my advantage.
So...Denim and Lace was born!

The page was only launched last night for a sneaky peek but I've been working madly on getting products made and ready for sale.
I'd love it if you come on over and liked the page...here's a link:
Denim and Lace

I've already had a little play with some of the denim flower embellishments I've made and used them on this months Stuck? sketch challenge:

Hope you like this little sneaky peek.
Well I best be off I have lots to do,
Until next post,
Shaz

Sing a song

Wow! 1st of February already??
How time flies when you're scrapping! LOL

We all know the best thing about the beginning of a new month...it means new scrappy challenges to do :)
This month the challenge at Daring You To Scrap is one of my personal favourites.

Simply create a page using song lyrics as a major design element on the page, through journalling, titles or even the background. It just has to be obvious that the song lyrics inspired your layout.

This is the page I created for February's challenge: P.S Page looks a little crooked but it's not really LOL

I chose this song as it's one of my all time favourites and matched the photo of my daughter perfectly. I had a lot of spritzy, inky fun with this one altering embellishments to suit the layout style.

This gorgeous balsa wood embellishment from Handmade Halo was distress inked and cut in half to hold different song lyrics. P.S Have you been over to have a look at the Handmade Halo shop? If not...do yourself a favour and pop in for a look. Some absolutely gorgeous products to play with. :)

Thanks to everyone for playing along with us for the first challenge. A whopping 34 entries for the first month! Wow...that's amazing!!

Until next post,

Shaz
