White with 1

FINALLY got this challenge finished today after starting the layout last Thursday!

I must admit I didn't know how I'd go with this colour combo as I have a bit of a 'thing' with white and creams on a vintage style page but I really like how this has turned out.
The challenge this month is to use the colour BROWN with white and something vintage. I have quite a few vintage items on this page so I think I have this covered. ;P

I love this photo of my eldest son, Josh and me taken at my daughters 21st last May.

It's a CONCRETE JUNGLE out there...

...but don't worry Paper Inklings has it covered!

Introducing the brand new and very first Paper Inklings Design Team....

*Danielle Sheehan
*Monique Fox
*Belinda Achatz
*Kim Kendell
*Leah Cameron
*Sandra Wilkinson
and....ME!

We've all been very busy creating with the awesome new range called CONCRETE JUNGLE which is, in true Paper Inklings style, AMAZING!!
I love the grungy look of these papers and this collection is one of a kind!
Something for all boys on wheels whether it be scooters, BMX bikes or motor bikes. Of course, not just limited to boys these papers would work well with girls too.
Here is a layout I've created with the scooter collection:

Very cool!

I've added links to all the new Design Team on my sidebar so why not check out their creations today?
Plus, Paper Inklings now has their own blog underway which you'll also find on my sidebar.
Be sure to check back soon for some more Paper Inklings grungy goodness.

Kraft It Up challenge

Woohoo! I managed to get this months Kraft It Up challenge done today!!
Seeing as I spent almost the WHOLE day on the phone to a pack of morons yesterday trying to work out computer issues....grrrrrrrrrrrrr
I decided to reward myself with some creative time :)

This months challenge is a colour combo:

To be honest the layout turned out 100% different to when I had a bit of time to push paper and photos around yesterday afternoon and the ideas I had in my head last night. I completely turned the whole thing around, upside down to what I originally had planned to be honest and I'm really happy with the way it turned out.
Sometimes if you're not happy with the way something is coming together, I think it's best to walk away and come back to it later. This usally ALWAYS works for me.
Anyway...I scrapped some cool photos I took of Michael blowing bubbles on a family picnic last month. He really is just a big kid at heart :)

Wanting to stay with the bubble/circle theme I used a funky bubble border designed by Leeann Pearce and made it the focal embellishment. I painted it, then stamped on it with some cool circle stamps then used mesh and patterned paper behind some of the circles for added texture and dimension. I then used a couple of the circles as journalling spots. Very versatile piece of chipboard indeed!

Hope you like it!
Cheers

New blog for yummy products and a share

Hi all,

Chipboard eye candy or what??
http://stuff2scrap.blogspot.com/
Why not become a follower of the blog to guarantee you keep up with the latest and greatest designs?

Speaking of yummy Stuff 2 Scrap chipboard I had a play with some more and used some on Antheas February sketch challenge over at http://www.scrapbooksavvy.com.au
Really cute sketch it was too :)
Here it is:

And my interpretation. I played with some Tim Holtz Distress Inks to get the vintage effect I wanted on the chipboard and to match the beautiful Bo Bunny papers I used.

Hope you had a scrappy weekend.

Playing with chipboard...

Hi all,

Well we're at the end of another week and February already?? Gosh time flies...especially when you're having fun as I have been doing with my AWESOME Stuff 2 Scrap goodies.
My biggest problem was what to use first!

I had this photo of Jedd printed out that I absolutely LOVE. It's a photo of him trying on his hoodie that he received off his Pop for Christmas and I think he looks preeettyyy hhhooottt and definitely ROCKS his hoodie!! LOL

I was dying to use the funky barbed wire chipboard on this page but wanted to do something a little different with it so I applied Mod Podge to it and covered it in tissue paper just for a little bit of texture. I then wrapped twine around it for detail.

I cut some flame chipboard and added a single inked piece just for added visual interest and a pop of colour:

Then finally, in keeping with the grungy feel I added a piece of cross hatch chipboard to the top left corner of the papers and added some more twine for texture.

I'm just loving playing around with grunge at the moment, especially as I scrap a lot of teenage boy pages.

Did you know http://www.stuff2scrap.com.au/ is a retail site? Why not head on over for a sticky beak at their cool designs?

Cheers
